3 configuration methods of DX821

One. via hotspot of cellphone (recommended when test)

 

  1. Devices: DX821, DT471 (or DT17S, DT437), PC7, IPC + Power supply, Android cellphone (with XD-APP installed)

  2. Connect all above devices

  3. On cellphone set a hotspot with name “VTK” and password “88888888”, then tap button “TK-A” of DX821 for 3 seconds to connect.
    Note: during this test, please turn off Wi-Fi and use mobile data

  4. Open XD-APP, add DX821 on XD-APP, and make connection so could do the configuration.

  5. Add IPC to DX821
    In this environment must set IPC as Static IP address by a PC. Then on XD-APP, go to menu “LAN Config“ to set DX821 as Static IP address, too.
    Now can choose any way to add IPC as below.
    Way 1: On DX821 itself, press TK-B for 6 seconds to add above IPC. (In this way must set the IPC as “name:admin”, “password: admin” (or “password: test1234”)
    Way 2: On XD-APP, go to menu “Add IPC”, then input name and passwords (could be self-defined) of a IP camera, then this IPC will be added to DX821

 

Two. via LAN with Internet

  1. Devices: DX821. DT471 (or DT17S, DT437), PC7, IPC + Power supply, Android cellphone (with XD-APP installed), Router with Internet (including DHCP server), CAT5 cable

  2. Connect all above devices, and press TK-B for 3 seconds so DX821 will connect to the Cloud

  3. On XD-APP, Open XD-APP, add DX821 on XD-APP, and make connection so could do the configuration.

  4. add IPC to the system
    Same as point 5 of “One. via hotspot of cellphone“.

 

Three. via WLAN with Internet

 

  1. Devices: DX821. DT471 (or DT17S, DT437), PC7, IPC + Power supply, Android cellphone (with XD-APP installed), Router with Internet (incl. DHCP server)

  2. Connect all above devices

  3. On cellphone set a hotspot with name “VTK” and password “88888888”, then tap button “TK-A” of DX821 for 3 seconds to connect.

  4. Open XD-APP, add DX821 on XD-APP, and make connection so could do the configuration

  5. Go to menu “Add wifi“, enable it, and input SSID and PWD, tap “Add WIFI” and “Save”

  6. add IPC to the system
    Same as point 5 of “One. via hotspot of cellphone“.
