Configure and how to works with guard unit

What is guard unit

A guard unit is more like a monitor type door station, it could call all monitors and door stations, usually for concierge. Guard unit has below functions.

·         Quick unlock without monitoring.

·         Call to monitor with a video image from camera. (video proxy setup requires)

·         Always in the top of door station’s namelist.

·         Video recording for doors and IP cameras.

·         Long-time monitoring.

Guard Unit in SS scenario

·         In SS (Standalone) scenario

·         Using DCHP&Auto. (If not, setup IP address setting first, and follow the guide)

Call_Nbr setup

Default installer password: 66666666

Guard unit has Call_Nbr settings also, it is similar to door station Call_Nbr setup, only requires two basic parameters, BD_Nbr and GL_Nbr (similar to DS_Nbr, identify while there are multi guard units)

On IX471(GL) in standby, tap “⚙” -> “Installer” -> “Call_Nbr”

In SS scenario, BD_Nbr should display in “- “, if not input “0099” for BD_Nbr.

For more than one guard unit please setup GL_Nbr correctly. (01~32)

Add IP Camera

On IX471(GL) tap “⚙” -> “Ext.Unit” -> “IP Camera”, tap “Add” to add IP cameras.

Refer “IP Camera” for more information.

Calling to a guard unit

On door station IX850/IX821

By Input “00” (or “000”,”0000”) to call to first guard unit.

On IX850, you could also call on “namelist”, guard unit always on the top of the list.

On Monitor

Tap “intercom” -> “Guard Station” -> tap guard unit to call

Guard Unit in NS scenario

·         In NS (Network complex) scenario

·         Using DCHP&Auto. (If not, setup IP address setting first, and follow the guide)

When setup guard unit in NS scenario, there is two kinds of guard unit:

Guard units serve for all the system, entire network, the guard unit is common guard unit (CGL)

Guard units serve for only the building, the guard unit is regular guard unit (GL)

Call_Nbr setup

On IX471(GL) in standby, tap “⚙” -> “Installer” -> “Call_Nbr”

If is a common guard unit, set BD_Nbr = 0000,

If it is working for particular building input the BD_Nbr.

Call_Nbr is general name for calling relate numbers(strings), include below:

Monitoring and unlock

First time running GL471, please check the monitoring list at least one time.

Tap “functions” -> “Monitor”

Also, by tap on “Monitor” icon the main menu, could monitoring IP cameras and Doors. In this page, the monitoring will automatically switch to next device very 30s.

Call Monitor

Tap “functions” -> “Namelist”

As below:

Tap any monitor in the list to start a call.
