Firmware & RES Update for IX Devices
Firmware, customize and RES file update
Regular Update
Regular update usually for delta release since last full release.
Online Update
In some cases, online update might require SD card for large storage rooms. Online update require internet or a local update server.
Door station IX850
When door station in “Installer mode”, tap “Installer mode” -> “Settings” -> “Upgrade”
Server: select an update server, usually is Server1[47.91.88.33] unless there is a special notice.
Download code: for different customization door station has different code, for V-TEC English standard version, the code is 985000
Tap “Check” to check if there is an available update, and tap “Install” to update, if tips with SD card requires, please insert a SD card.
Monitor IX471
On IX471, tap “Settings” -> “Installer” -> “Upgrade” as below,
Server: select an update server, usually is Server1[47.91.88.33] unless there is a special notice.
Download code: for different customization door station has different code, for V-TEC English standard version, the code is 947100
Tap “Check” to check if there is an available update, and tap “Install” to update, if tips with SD card requires, please insert a SD card.
Offline update
IX device update is also support offline update.
Copy firmware to SD card
Download and copy firmware to SD card, the file structure must as below, all firmware files must storage in folder “SdUpgrade” in the root directory of SD card

9471xx.txt and 9471xx.zip usually for monitor update package.
9850xx.txt and 9850xx.zip usually for door station 850 update.
Update door station IX850
When door station in “Installer mode”, tap “Installer mode” -> “Settings” -> “Upgrade”, in “Server” select “SD card”
Tap “Check” and then “Install” to install the updates.
Update monitor IX471
On IX471, tap “Settings” -> “Installer” -> “Upgrade”, in “Server” select “SD card”
Tap “Check” and then “Install” to install the updates.
Advance update (USB tool)
Advance update usually for full release version or flash firmware for those IX device failure to update via SD card or online update.
Advance update requires
For advance update you will need, an USB debug converter, PC (Windows version) or laptop with USB tool version firmware (Auto-Writer)
Update IX Devices
Connect USB debug converter and IX device as below: (DO NOT CONNECT PC FIRST)
2. Unzip firmware zip pack and run “AutoWriter.exe”, please match your device with correct firmware pack.
3. when you see below window, “Plug USB and power-on to start programming” and now connect the USB wire to your PC (Don’t need to power up the unit.). After the USB connected, wait for seconds the device will automatically write:

Customization (RES) updates
Customization (RES) updates usually for updating customization files, such as logo, voice and languages.
Copy RES file to SD card
Download and copy firmware to SD card, the file structure must as below, all firmware files must storage in folder “RES” in the root directory of SD card

RES file must start with “R8100”.
Update RES to IX850
Insert the SD card with RES files, and in “Installer Mode”, tap “Installer Mode” -> “Advanced tools” -> “RES Manager” -> “Restore form SD”
And select the correct RES file.
Update RES to IX471
In “Quick Menu”, or manually get into quick menu, “Settings” -> “Installer” -> “Onsite tools” and tap “RES” icon ->“Restore form SD”
And select the correct RES file.
Update RES to IX610/IX821
Due to door station hasn’t got a screen, update could only do with a connected monitor, copy files same as others and insert to the monitor.
On the monitor with SD card, search and locate target IX610 or IX821 via onsite tools.
Refer “Onsite tool” for more information.
In remote configure of the door station, tap “More”, if “RES” folder is existing you will see “RES Manage” -> “Restore form SD”
And select the correct RES file.
